Who we are

We are a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that relies on community support and donations to remain operational, and we are a member of the Alabama Association of Rescue Squads.

We help the community by performing land and water-based search, rescue, and recovery operations throughout Alabama and, when requested, southern Tennessee.

Our search dogs specialize in air scent work, track and trail, and HRD (Human Remains Detection). The search dogs range in age from puppies to adults. Most dogs can be SAR dogs.

We also provide boat recovery on the area's waterways, as well as dive team support for the recovery of vehicles and remains.

K9 Team

There are several types of search-and-rescue dogs.

     - Air Scent
     - Cadaver (HRD)
     -Track and Trail
Each form has its own training and way of helping when someone is lost.

Any dog over 40 lbs with a longer snout can be a search dog. It takes roughly six months to train a dog to find someone and a year to train the handler to read their dog.

Natural Disaster Relief

The rescue squad assists when any natural disaster strikes.  We stand ready to assist however the community needs.

In the event of a disaster with the nuclear plant, we become a safe station for first responders and assist with river control.
